Abstract

This study investigated the role of alliance with the family therapist in attachment change over seven weeks for 4,076 adolescents in a psychiatric residential treatment system. Both dimensions of attachment insecurity (anxiety and avoidance) decreased over time and better family therapist alliance was related to a steeper slope of change.
