Domestic Violence and Self-Sufficiency Among Pregnant Women in an Emergency Maternity Shelter

This study explored the relationship between domestic violence  and self-sufficiency using archival data of 337 pregnant women in an emergency maternity shelter. Intimate partner violence and length of stay were predictors of self-sufficiency. Length of stay at the shelter moderated the relationship between intimate partner violence and improvements in self-sufficiency.
