Leveraging Fine-Grained Mechanisms and Plurality of Theories, Methods, and Lived Experience Perspectives to Advance Mental Health Science
We propose two ways to advance mental health science: (1) studying fine-grained elements of mental health and illness such as symptoms, mechanisms, and processes; and (2) theoretical and methodological pluralism, i.e. leveraging different frameworks such as HiTOP, RDoC, and systems approaches as well as lived experience perspectives.
