Examining the Effects of Construal Level from a Social Angle

Friday, May 24, 2024 · San Francisco, CA

Oral · Social

Low-level and high-level construal selectively help expanding and contracting one’s mental horizon. This symposium brings together four presentations exploring the social implications of construal level, e.g., what it signals to others and how it is perceived. We examine phenomena such as communication choices, candidates’ and coworkers’ evaluation, and volunteering decisions.
