Thriving on Meaning: Understanding the Antecedents and Consequences of Having Meaning in Life
This symposium examines research on the antecedents and consequences of having meaning. Topics include identifying supererogation as a source of meaning, understanding how meaning motivates prosocial behavior, revealing negative lay-beliefs about the marketplace may hinder meaning-making through consumption, and exploring the role of meaning in connecting conservatism, religiosity, and racism.
