Emerging Alternatives to Traditional Null Hypothesis Significance Testing
The well-documented shortcomings of null hypothesis significance testing (NHST) led to several emerging alternatives, including null region framework, distinguishability from random conclusions, null hypothesis Bayesian testing (NHBT), and posterior probabilities of hypotheses. We will discuss what they test, what they don’t, and to what research questions they are most applicable.
