Dysfunctional Approach-Avoidance Tendencies: New Approaches to Their Assessment, Modification, and Treatment
Many disorders show dysfunctional approach-avoidance tendencies, including automatic approach of drug stimuli in addictions, insufficient approach of positive stimuli in depression, and avoidance in anxiety disorders. This symposium illustrates how to measure dysfunctional approach-avoidance tendencies, how to modify them by computer-based trainings, and how patients profit from modified approach-avoidance tendencies.
