This symposium explores how language facilitates social learning and develops through interaction. Speakers will discuss how people use semantic knowledge to form a coherent self-concept and simplify social reward learning; how perceivers use language cues to infer relationships between people; and how caregivers scaffold learning of emotion labels in children.
