Dynamic Socioemotional Risk Factors for Self-Injurious Thoughts and Behaviors

Friday, May 24, 2024 · San Francisco, CA

Oral · Methodology

Four diverse studies examined within-person changes in socioemotional predictors of self-injury and suicidality across hours, days, and weeks in adolescence, emerging adulthood, and the perinatal period. Fluctuations in loneliness, hopelessness, and emotion dysregulation were closely coupled with changes in suicidality and self-injury. These studies will inform advancements in suicide research.
