Emotional awareness moderates associations between emotion expression and both depression and relationship satisfaction. At high emotional awareness, emotion expression is positively associated with relationship satisfaction, and is not associated with depression. At low emotional awareness, emotion expression is positively associated with depression, and is not associated with relationship satisfaction.
