Abstract
This study investigated how well younger and older adults could stop responses to pleasant and unpleasant scenes (i.e., emotional response inhibition) using a variation of the Stop Signal Task. We observed that older adults implement similar evaluative processing of pleasant versus unpleasant information as younger adults, but less efficiently.
