Measuring Belonging: Development and Validation of a Measure of Campus Belonging

A measure of campus belongingness was developed and validated. In exploratory factor analysis of a sample at a mid-sized university (N=455), nine items loaded onto three factors: social support, equity, and prejudice. CFA (N=1111) results support the three-factor model which emerged in the EFA (CFI = .960; SRMR = .052).
