Pubertal Development and Change in Neural Response to Emotional Faces in Early Adolescence

Abstract
Adolescents show heightened neural response to socio-emotional information, which is hypothesized to be informed by pubertal development. Using longitudinal data from the large-scale Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study, we found that pubertal status predicted both absolute levels and changes in youth’s neural response to emotional faces over time.
