Predicting Fluid Reasoning in Groups: Cognitive Factors Appear to Outweigh Temperament

Some studies find nonintellective factors determine group success; others find average or maximum cognitive ability the best predictor. We add to this literature with assessment of temperament. Few temperament factors contribute to the prediction of group performance; most variability is associated with maximum performance of members on the individual task.
