Buffering Academic Stress: Cultural Inclusivity and Diverse Interdependence

We investigate whether campus-based support and culturally specific tasks reduce student stress. Compared to inclusive community tasks, SJSU (HIS) students who do interdependence heritage tasks have lower cortisol and stronger campus belonging. A multimethod approach will examine how tasks, culture, and support variables affect cortisol reactivity ("Tier Social Stress Test.")
