Abstract

Using a sample of 1,455 teams across 21 studies, we meta-analyzed research on team viability, personality traits, and cognitive ability. Emotional stability and extraversion had the strongest relationships with team viability. The pattern of results reinforces theory that suggests team viability is a unique dimension of team effectiveness.
