Toward a Proof of Concept for Neuroimaging-Based Financial-System Regulation: Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS)-Recorded Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex Activity in Lab Markets with Monotonically Decreasing or Peaked Fundamental Values

Abstract
The proposed lab asset-trading market study tests the hypothesis that low near-infrared spectroscopy-measured dorsolateral prefrontal cortex activity is a biomarker of asset-price bubbles. A novel neuroimaging-based approach to financial-system regulation would be supported by finding evidence for this biomarker in markets with a monotonically decreasing, but not peaked, fundamental value.
