Applying Dynamic Systems Theory to Delineate Common Microprocesses in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

We developed an assessment tool to understand moment-to-moment behaviors of clients in psychodynamic psychotherapy. We refined the coding systems through examining a series of psychodynamic therapy video demonstrations, and the reliability was ICC=.53 -.89. In developing such a tool, we can improve our understanding of mechanisms of change in therapy.
