Reciprocal Relationship between Insomnia, Impulsivity, and Alcohol Use Among U.S. Adolescents

This prospective study examined the reciprocal relationship between insomnia symptoms, impulsivity, and alcohol use among U.S. adolescents. After controlling for covariates, impulsivity, insomnia symptoms, and alcohol use at Time 1 significantly predicted the same Time 2 variables (autoregressive). Reciprocal associations were found between impulsivity and insomnia symptoms (cross-lagged).
