Examining the Associations of Early-Life Parent-Child Relationships with Midlife Blood Pressure

Abstract
We examined the associations between early-life parent-child relationships and midlife blood pressure, specifically parental affection and emotional abuse. Data from 1255 participants (53.33% female, average age = 55.41(SD 12.45) were included in this analysis. We found that emotional abuse was most strongly associated with midlife systolic blood pressure (p<.05).
