Collectivism and COVID-19 Vaccination Rates in the United States: Exploring the Unexpected Relationship

Abstract
Contrary to the wide-spread notion that cultural collectivism promotes norm-congruous behaviors, but consistent with the hypothesis that social support linked to collectivism can produce complacency, we found that a county-level collectivism index predicted a lower vaccination rate during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.
