Exploring the Co-Development of Vocabulary, Syntactic Awareness, and Reading Comprehension in Children Learning English As a Second Language

Abstract
We explored the co-development of vocabulary, syntactic awareness, and reading comprehension in a second language. The participants were 184 children (91 girls, Mage =9.04) in the pre-test and 178 of them in the post-test. The results indicate that vocabulary, syntactic awareness, and reading comprehension supported the development of each other.
