Departmental Influences on Burnout Symptoms in Academic Faculty Pre-COVID-19

Abstract
Burnout symptoms have plagued the academic community long before the COVID-19 pandemic. This study examines how both personal perceptions and departmental pressures in academia influenced burnout symptoms in faculty pre-pandemic. Finding show evidence that pressure from the university, passion for teaching, perceived organizational support and communication impact burnout in faculty.
