Conventionalism and Prejudice

Research on authoritarianism suggests that conventionalism predicts prejudice toward those who deviate from norms. We examined various aspects of conventionalism and their effects on prejudice comparing Northern European-heritage and East Asian-heritage cultures. We found both universal and culture-specific associations between conventionalism and prejudice.
