Abstract
Our beliefs about others’ emotional expressions depend on their visible identities, but what about less visible markers like social class? We demonstrate that people (n = 2,381) believe higher class individuals express more self-oriented positive emotions (e.g., pride), while lower class individuals instead show more other-oriented positive emotions (e.g., gratitude).
