Adult Depression Associated with Developmental Timing of Childhood Adversity

We aimed to examine whether childhood adversity experienced during different developmental periods would differentially associate with current depression symptoms in a retrospective online survey of adults. We found that exposure to adversity during middle childhood and possibly adolescence, but unexpectedly not during early childhood, predicted adult depression.
