Tracking Emotion Transfer in Music: The Important Role of Composer Affect and Intention

Much research has been dedicated to the affective experience of music listeners, but less attention has been given to composers in the process of conveying emotion in music. In response, this research combines qualitative in-depth interviews with quantitative psychometric questionnaires that together probe composers’ engagement with emotion in their work.
