Abstract
Little research has investigated the cognitive characteristics associated with the emotion dynamics of negative affect. We assessed the effects of rumination or worry on the variability of depression, anxiety, fear, and sadness. The findings reveal that rumination and worry differentially affect emotional variability of negative affect.
