Abstract

We investigated positive and negative emotion differentiation and its relation to a children's propensity to intensely and frequently experience negative emotions. Participants included 39 children (14 females, Mage = 12.45). Regression analyses found that children higher in emotionality displayed greater differentiation of their negative but not positive emotions across tasks.
