Abstract
We tested the assumption that low-intensity treatments (LITs) circumvent barriers to therapy. Amongst N=962 adults with internalizing distress, lack of perceived need was as common a barrier as cost and associated with lower interest in LITs. Attitudinal barriers limit the potential impact of LITs as well as traditional therapy.
