Cat Got Your Tongue or Not? Proposed Research Investigating Category Fluency Performance As a Function of Apoe Genotype

Abstract

APOE genotypes are associated with Alzheimer’s Disease risk and semantic memory deficits as measured with category fluency tasks. To better understand risk prediction and semantic memory function, we propose comparing fluency performance of three allele groups (e2/e3, e3/e3, e3/e4) using item-level variables (lexical frequency, age of acquisition, semantic neighborhood density).
