ACE to Academics: The Role of Attention and Inhibition in Trauma's Impact on Youth Educational Outcomes

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between trauma exposure, attention/inhibition, and educational outcomes. Secondary data analysis was conducted using a sample of 6,486 adolescents enrolled in a longitudinal study focused on child development. Preliminary findings suggest that attention/inhibition indeed act as partial mediators in the link between trauma and educational outcomes.
