Developing and Validating a Graded Emotional Face Task with Rapid Stimulus Presentation: Internal Consistency and Concurrent Validity at 100ms with Mask

Graded Emotional Face Task (GEFT) do not systematically consider stimulus presentation speeds or psychometric properties. We shortened stimulus presentation durations across three GEFT experiments (200ms, 150ms, 100ms with/without masking). Performance was strikingly consistent across experiments (Ms .47-.54, SDs .06-.08), but the 100ms/masked version showed more internal consistency and concurrent validity.
