Parenthood As a Protective Factor for the Relationship between Stressful Life Events and the Suicidal Narrative

We investigated differences in the incidence of the Suicidal Narrative between parent and non-parent participants. Independent samples t-tests showed that individuals with children reported less severe suicidal narrative intensity than those without children (t(1037) = -5.82, p <0.001), implying the need for more target suicide prevention interventions.
