Abstract
Across two studies we examined emotion-performance relationships and the effect of emotion-control strategies targeting different positive emotions on learning a complex videogame. Findings revealed positive emotions, particularly deactivating emotions (e.g., calm, relaxed), improved performance and helped participants up-regulate/maintain positive emotions, reduce negative emotions (e.g., frustration, anxiety), and improve focus.
