Abstract

Poster will present five studies (n=87-590) examining the role of belief updating in social anxiety. Using novel reversal-learning tasks, we found that social anxiety is associated with a selective deficit in positively updating negative beliefs. Positive updating was also linked to social approach, cross-sectionally and longitudinally. Findings refine theoretical theories.
