Measuring Mathematics Mindset: A Comparison of the Implicit Theories of Intelligence Scale and a Novel Mathematics-Specific Mindset Scale

Abstract
Two growth-versus-fixed mindset measures will be compared: 1) Dweck’s Implicit Theories of Intelligence Scale, a general intelligence-oriented mindset measure; 2) the Mathematics Mindset Scale, a novel mathematics-specific mindset measure. Using descriptive item analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, we will determine how these scales compare in measuring domain-specific constructs.
