Abstract
Drinking-in-the-Dark procedures may cause binge-like consumption of alcohol in rodents and few studies have used DID to explore drinking in outbred rat lines. Outcomes from the 30-minute drinking period suggest that 20% alcohol in supersac solution leads to higher doses achieved and a two-day alcohol-free period produces abstinence induced drinking.
