“What Sets a Positive Risk-Taker Apart?”: A Study Investigating Cognitive and Socioemotional Indicators in a Wide Sample of Indian Adolescents
- Kirti Tyagi
Abstract
The study investigated psychological predictors of positive risk-taking in 379 Indian adolescents aged 11–24 years. Results highlighted positive risk-takers displaying enhanced impulse control, better planning, optimal decision-making, good emotion regulation, high punishment sensitivity and low reward sensitivity over successive trials, indicating support for constructive risk-taking for adolescent development.
