Abstract
We developed a Chinese version of parental reading history questionnaire and found parental reading history predicted children’s reading and reading-related cognitive abilities. Reading history of mothers and fathers showed differential effects on children’s reading and reading-related cognitive abilities. Results shed light on intergenerational transmission of reading abilities.
