How Motivation Predicts Gifted Profiles of Academic Achievement

Abstract

Literature identifies motivation and psychosocial perceptions as important for gifted students’ achievement but lacks comprehensive evaluations of the relationships among variables. In this study, the relationships between motivation, psychosocial perceptions, engagement, and GPA were assessed among gifted learners. Results indicate motivation predicts students’ engagement, but not psychosocial perceptions or GPA.
