When Opposites Attract: Women, Especially, May be More Fulfilled with Partners Who Look Less like Them

We examined whether physical resemblance predicts greater attraction and relationship quality among racially diverse couples (N = 248). We found that generally, people showed greater attraction to those who look different from them. However, for men, similarity of certain features was important to attraction and relationship quality.
