Abstract

Sixty healthy adults (21.32+4.29yrs.) were randomly assigned to thirty pairs.  Electroencephalograms (EEGs) were monitored during four stages of measurements: [Stage-1] Empathetic conversation; [Stage-2] Mindfulness; [Stage-3] Guided imagery for mutual compassion; [Stage-4] Mindfulness. EEG coherency among partners was significantly higher during Stage-1 than other stages, suggesting higher EEG coherency during empathy.
