Culture of Honor Theory Predicts Scots-Irish Ethnic Representation in Officer-Involved Shootings

This study observed an ethnic phenomenon in officer-involved lethal shootings that is consistent with the Culture of Honor Theory. Specifically, analyses of data from the Washington Post, genealogy groups, and online investigations revealed that individuals of Scots-Irish descent are over-represented among the decedents and police officers in these lethal encounters.
