Abstract
Behavior coding is a gold standard for assessing caregiver-child interactions. To address limitations of existing microcoding approaches that narrowly focus on affect, we developed a novel emotion-related microcoding system and present initial evidence of reliability and validity with respect to global ratings of behavior and child behavior problems.
