Emotion Regulation Difficulties Are Associated with Higher Levels of Children’s Internalizing Problems

Abstract
The current study examines emotion regulation as a moderator of the association between stressful life events and internalizing problems in children. Results indicate that emotion regulation difficulties were associated with greater symptoms of internalizing problems; however, there was no significant interaction.
