Abstract
The PHQ-9 is a survey of depressive symptoms. In the Facial Expression Recognition Test (FERT), participants match facial expressions to the six universal emotions of anger, disgust, happiness, sadness, surprise, and fear. College students who scored higher on the PHQ-9 scored lower in recognizing happiness in the FERT.
