Childhood Trauma As a Predictor of Pain and Pain Interference in a Veteran Sample

Among 102 participants in a longitudinal cohort of Veterans (Baseline M_age=58), Childhood Trauma Questionnaire scores predicted higher levels of current pain and interference with multiple domains of physical, social, and emotional functioning. The association was independent of current PTSD symptom levels, highlighting the impact of childhood stressors in Veteran populations.
