The Impact of Personal Storytelling: Increasing Positive Attitudes Towards Marginalized Individuals through First-Person Narratives

In an experiment with 69 participants, we asked whether reading a personal story from a marginalized individual would increase positive attitudes toward that person, and whether the effect would be greater for narratives rather than strictly facts. Results were affirmative and have implications for social justice and racial bias reduction.
