Abstract

Epistemic curiosity has been traditionally measured with trait versus state scales. We introduce the State Interest and Deprivation Epistemic Curiosity Scales with initial validation evidence. Dimensions were bifurcated into emotion and cognition components for better structural fit with interest-emotion scores incrementally predicting learning on a complex videogame beyond well-established predictors.
